Privacy policy
We collect very little. We use your details only to answer you, or to send the emails you asked for. We do not sell your data, run ads or track you around the web.
1. Who we are
EyeQ.consulting (“we”, “us”) is a business based in Malta. We decide how and why your personal data is used, which makes us the “data controller”. You can reach us at mon@eyeq.consulting.
2. What we collect, why, and our legal basis
If you send us a message through the contact form
- What: your first and last name, email address, phone number, business name (optional), the topic you pick and your message.
- Why: to reply to you and, if you ask about our services, to talk about working together.
- Legal basis: our legitimate interest in answering enquiries, and steps you ask us to take before an agreement (GDPR Article 6(1)(f) and (b)).
The form also has a hidden field and a short timer. They only help us tell people from automated spam. We do not use them to identify or profile you.
If you join the mailing list
- What: your first name, email address, the topics you tick and the date you agreed.
- Why: to email you about the topics you ticked, and only those.
- Legal basis: your consent (GDPR Article 6(1)(a)). You can withdraw it at any time by replying “unsubscribe” to any email we send, or by writing to mon@eyeq.consulting. Withdrawing does not affect emails already sent.
If you message us on WhatsApp
The WhatsApp button on this site opens a chat in WhatsApp. We then see your name, number and what you write. WhatsApp is run by Meta and handles your data under its own privacy policy. We keep the chat for the same period as other enquiries (see section 5). Our legal basis is the same as for the contact form.
When you visit the site
Like every website, the server that delivers this site sees technical details such as your IP address, the page you asked for, the date and time, and your browser type. We use this only to keep the site secure and working (GDPR Article 6(1)(f)). If you click Accept on our cookie notice, we also use two website statistics tools, Google Analytics and Metricool, to count visits and to see which pages and sections people open and which links brought them here. Google Analytics saves cookies on your device (see our Cookie policy); Metricool says its tracker does not. The tools receive the address of the page you opened (including any campaign tag in the link), the page you came from, your browser window size, your device and browser type, and your IP address, which they use to work out roughly where you are. We do not use them to identify you or to build profiles of visitors, and we have switched off the Google Analytics features that link visits to advertising. Our legal basis is your consent (GDPR Article 6(1)(a), and the ePrivacy rules on cookies). If you click Decline, or do not choose, neither tool loads. You can withdraw your consent at any time with “Cookie settings” in the footer of our home page. We do not run advertising or tracking tools. See our Cookie policy.
3. Who we share your data with
We do not sell your data and we do not use it for advertising. A few providers help us run the site and handle messages. They act on our instructions.
- Cloudflare hosts this website.
- Make (make.com) is the automation tool that passes contact form messages and mailing list sign-ups from the site to our email and our list. We use its EU region.
- Microsoft 365 is our email, where enquiries arrive and where we reply from.
- Google (Google Sheets) holds the mailing list.
- Google (Google Analytics) provides website statistics, only if you click Accept.
- Metricool also provides website statistics, only if you click Accept.
- WhatsApp (Meta) only if you choose to message us there.
The LinkedIn links on this site take you to LinkedIn, which has its own privacy policy. We do not embed LinkedIn or any other third-party content on the site. We may also share data if the law requires it, for example under a court order.
4. Transfers outside the EU and EEA
Some of these providers may process data outside the EU and EEA, including in the United States. Where that happens, we rely on safeguards such as the EU-US Data Privacy Framework or the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses.
5. How long we keep your data
- Enquiries (contact form and WhatsApp): for 12 months after our last contact with you, then we delete them. If we start working together, we keep what we need for the work and for legal, accounting and tax duties, as set out in our agreement.
- Mailing list: until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete your details. We then remove you from the list.
- Server logs: kept by our host for a short period under its own policies.
- Website statistics: Google Analytics keeps visit data for 14 months, then deletes it automatically. Metricool keeps its statistics under its own retention rules.
- Your cookie choice: kept in your own browser for 12 months, then we ask again.
6. Your rights
You have the right to ask us for a copy of your data, to correct it, to delete it, to limit how we use it, to object to our use of it, and to receive it in a portable format. You can always object to marketing emails, and where we rely on your consent you can withdraw it.
To use any of these rights, write to mon@eyeq.consulting. We reply within one month. We may need to confirm who you are first. We do not charge a fee for this.
You can also complain to the Office of the Information and Data Protection Commissioner (IDPC) in Malta at idpc.org.mt. You do not have to contact us first, but we would like the chance to put things right.
7. Do you have to give us your data?
The contact form needs your name, email address and phone number so we can reply. Without them we cannot answer you. Everything else is optional. For the mailing list we need your first name and email address.
8. Automated decisions and children
We do not make decisions about you by automated means. This site is for businesses and is not aimed at anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
9. Security
This site uses an encrypted connection (HTTPS). We use reputable providers and limit access to enquiries and the mailing list to the people who need them to do their work.
10. Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we will update the date at the top. If the change is significant, we will say so on the site and, where the change affects you, tell mailing list members by email.
